Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that the Kejriwal Government, which held up the pension of old age people, widows, handicapped and others for over the past 10 years, was now concerned about the plight of the people by promising a slew of incentives, including Rs 5000 per month to those with over 60% disability, which was announced by Social Welfare Minister Saurav Bhardwaj, as it was a mere election stunt to mislead the people.

Shri Devender Yadav wondered how could Bhardwaj, who did not bat an eye lid when over 40 innocent people died by drowning and electrocution during this year’s monsoon mishaps, and who was notorious for blaming the Lt. Governor and the bureaucrats for his own incompetence and inefficiency in ensuring the implementation of his own   Ministry’s schemes,   give Rs 5000 per month to the handicapped. He said that this would be yet another empty promise of the AAP Government, like the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana in the Budget for 2024-25 under which every woman over 18 years will receive an honorarium of Rs 1,000 per month, but the proposal needs the approval of the Lt. Governor and the AAP Government has not fulfilled its budget promise.

Shri Devender Yadav said that with barely four months left for the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party Government was desperate to impress its deserted voters with some freebies, though the residents of Delhi have made up their minds to bring Congress back to power as the corrupt Kejriwal Government has lost the faith and trust of the people.
