Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that while Kejriwal got himself fully exposed with his incompetence and inefficiency in solving the problems of Delhi by misleading the public with various excuses, Chief Minister Atishi has proved herself to be incompetent in tackling Delhi’s severe air and water pollution, causing serious health hazards to the people, within a month of taking charge as CM. He said that Atishi, like Kejriwal, has no idea on how to control air and water pollution, other than making funny statements. He said that she has become an expert in shifting the blame of her own failures to others, including the neighbouring States. He said that Atishi has lost the faith and trust of the people and should tenter her resignation as CM forthwith so as not to prolong the agony of the public.
Shri Devender Yadav said that when Atishi kept aside the chair of Kejriwal while taking charge as the Chief Minister, residents of Delhi expected a transparent, corruption-free, blameless government, but she has turned out to be a clone of Kejriwal in shifting the blame of her own failures to others, and misleading the public with lies. He said that it was no wonder that the air quality in Delhi is one of the worst in the world among 1,650 world cities.
Shri Devender Yadav said that the Atishi Government and the BJP have been trading charges and counter charges without finding a lasting solution to the air and water pollution. He said that it was strange that Environmental Minister Gopal Rai has written to neighbouring States like UP, Haryana and Rajasthan not to ply diesel transport vehicles to Delhi, but not to Punjab, though Punjab Government buses also come to Delhi. He said that Atishi has been blaming stubble burning in other States for Delhi’s pollution, but not Punjab.
Shri Devender Yadav said that Delhi Congress has been reiterating for the past many years that the root causes of Delhi’s air pollution were dusts and vehicular pollution, but the Kejriwal Government had taken no steps to address this problem, instead it indulged in ineffective methods like smog towers and water sprinklers which made very little impact in clearing the Capital of its hazy, toxic sky. He said that the primary reason for the poisonous water of the Yamuna in the Delhi stretch of the river was the untreated sewer water flowing into the Yamuna as the AAP Government has not only failed to set up sewage treatment plants where the drain waters fall into the Yamuna, but also failed to desilt the drains of muck which flows into the river, since the AAP came to power in the Capital.
