Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav that when lakhs of poor people live in shanties or without a roof over their heads in the Capital in miserable conditions, the Aam Aadmi Party, which claims to represent the poor, was more concerned about the comforts of Chief Minister Atishi, after the Public Works Department sealed the bungalow at 6 Flag Staff Road, Civil Lines, which was occupied by Arvind Kejriwal, but when he vacated it after quitting as CM, he did not hand over the keys to the PWD, and Atishi occupied it even before it was officially allotted to her, even though she also occupies a Government bungalow ast 17 A-B, Mathura Road.

Shri Devender Yadav said that both AAP and BJP were indulging in shadow boxing in the name of the CM bungalow, which was rebuilt by Kejriwal by squandering crores of rupees of tax payers’ money, which could have been otherwise used for providing houses and civic facilities in the colonies where the poor lives. He said that this was the same Kejriwal who had proclaimed before coming to power that he would not accept any Government accommodation or vehicles, but now he just cannot live without the trappings of power he had enjoyed all these years as Chief Minister without any responsibility.

Shri Devender Yadav said that lakhs of hardworking poor people were still waiting for the flats/plots promised to them, and it has been an endless wait for them for the past 10 years, as neither the Aam Aadmi Party nor the BJP was concerned about the plight of the poor, though the BJP does not miss an opportunity to misuse the name of the Lt. Governor while the AAP indulges in blame-games for its own lapses.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Kejriwal had given the assurance to the poor of “Jehan Jhuggi—Wahan Makkan”, but he was sleeping over his promise; nor did he allot the over 45,000 falts constructed under the Rajiv Rattan Awaz Yoja to resettle the poor.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the both AAP and BJP had colluded to raze down thousands of JJ clusters to render lakhs of poor homeless about which neither party was concerned, but they were concerned about Atishi getting locked out of the Sheesh Mahal at Civil Lines.

Shri Devender Yadav said that it was the Congress Government which resettled lakhs of poor people living in the JJ Clusters by allotting them alternate plots, and when the Congress was in power in Delhi for 15 years, it started the in-situ construction of flats to provide flats to the poor, but both the BJP and AAP Governments stalled the project, and even the flats constructed under the scheme remain unallotted, as the AAP and BJP were plotting to rent them out, not allot them to the poor.
