large number of workers and leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, led by Subhash Bhagel, and the BJP, led by Nishant Mudgal, today joined the Congress in the presence of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. Shri Devender Yadav offered them the Congress scarfs to welcome into the party fold.

Besides Shri Devender Yadav, others present were AICC secretary Shri Jitendra Bhagel and District presiden Zubair Ahmed, Mahender Parasher, Sarvesh Baghel and Raju Pradhan.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Subhash Bhagel joined the Congress at the right time and his presence will further strengthen the party in Delhi. He said that those who joined the Congress would be given major responsibilities as Congress recognizes talent and rewards them with positions.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Capital had witnessed unprecedented developments when Congress was in power in Delhi for 15 years under Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dikshit when new flyovers and underpasses were built, the metro project got on rail and made it operational, modernized the DTC fleet with CNG buses to eliminate air pollution, but the Kejriwal government the ruined the civic infrastructure without doing any work over the past 10 years as he only made empty promises without fulfilling any of them.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress has been pitched at a vantage position in Delhi now as people want the party back in power as both BJP and AAP had let down the people without doing any work, as they wasted the past 10 years in shadow boxing and accusations to stall all development works.
