Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that despite the Delhi Assembly passing a resolution to reinstate the bus marshals whose services have been terminated, Lt. Governor Shri V.K.Saxena did not give  an appointment to meet a delegation of the marshals, as the LG had maintained the stand that the Kejrwial Government did not follow proper norms in the appointment of the marshals. The Supreme Court had also refused to entertain the Delhi Government’s petition last December, challenging the Lt Governor’s decision to terminate the services of all civil defence volunteers working as marshals in DTC buses.

Shri Devender Yadav said that over 10000 bus marshals have been rendered jobless, and the Lt. Governor should have taken a sympathetic stand  and should have at least given them a patient hearing, to listen to their  side of the story, as unemployment was the worst crisis facing the youth of Delhi. He said that Congress fully understands the plight of the marshals, and stands with them in their hour of crisis.  He said that former CM Kejriwal had done nothing to generate jobs other than indulging in empty rhetoric, nor did he fill the thousands of  job vacancies in the Delhi Government.

Shri Devender Yadav appealed to the Lt. Governor to take a sympathetic view of the bus marshals’ case as  thousands of families were in  dire straights because the bread winners had lost their jobs, due to the shadow boxing between the Lt. Governor and the AAP Government.
