Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and the AAP Ministers got some cheap publicity by “inspecting” the broken and potholed roads at various parts of Delhi as if they were not aware of the pathetic condition of the roads before, but no repair work has begun yet, as they have only given “instructions” to officials, and were not on the ground to ensure that the recarpeting of the broken roads was done on a war-footring.  He said that the pathetic condition of the roads points to corruption in the carpeting and maintenance of roads as the Kejriwal Government was notorious for taking commission for every work awarded to contractors. 

Shri Devender Yadav said that due to the dilapidated condition of the roads, commuters continue to face harrowing times on the roads with road rage resulting in even murders. He said that the dust emanating from the broken roads has only worsened   air pollution in the Capital, which no “advanced green war room” would be able to tackle, contrary to the claims of Environmental Minister Gopal Rai.

Shri Devender Yadav said that at many places, the broken roads have developed deep cavities which need thorough relaying of roads,  and not patch work jobs to rush through the work before October 31, the deadline set by the Delhi Government. He said that Atishi and her Ministers have instructed the Public Works Departments to carryout the works, without making proper financial allocation for doing a concrete job of the road work.

Shri Devender Yadav said that former CM Kejriwal has been harping on the so called “models” of health and education he claimes to have implemented in the Capital, but was not taking credit for the broken roads and severe air pollution, which was the result of his maladmininstration over the past decade when he was at the helm of the Government.
