On the first anniversary of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, falling on September 7, 2023, Delhi Congress, under the leadership of newly-appointed president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely, will hold rallies in all the 14 districts of Delhi. Addressing a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, senior leader and ex-MLA Shri Mukesh Sharma said that at the direction of the All India Congress Committee, the rallies will be held in all the districts on September 7 from 5 p.m to 6 p.m to mark the first anniversary of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said that Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely, along with senior leaders and observers, will also participate in the rallies. Others present at the press conference were senior leaders and ex-MLAs Shri Jaikishan and Shri Veer Singh Dhingan and former Leader of the House in the MCD Shri Jitender Kumar Kochar.
Shri Mukesh Sharma said that though people would be celebrating the Janmashtami festival on September 7, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the Congress workers and the general public for the Bharat Jodo Yatra anniversary rallies in Delhi. He said that Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely held meetings with the Congress workers to make extensive preparations for the rallies, and advised the district presidents to ensure maximum participation of Congress workers, from the grass-root level upwards, in the rallies.
Shri Mukesh Sharma said that Congress workers, with tri-colour flags in their hands, will participate in the padayatra and rallies to spread Shri Rahul Gandhi’s message of “Nafrat Ke Bazar Mei Mohabbat Ki Dhukkan”, social harmony, love and peace among the people. He said that separate meetings were being held in every district to make the rallies a grand success. He said that placards and hoarding of Shri Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will be put up in every district. He said that people from all sections of society, religious and social organizations will participate in the rally.
Shri Sharma said that Delhi Congress wanted to hold a rally at Connaught Place in the New Delhi District, and in this connection, he called up the concerned police officer, but he declined permission due to security reasons in view of the G-20 Summit, to be held in Delhi from September 8 to 10. He said that Delhi Congress has, therefore, decided not to hold the rally in the New Delhi District Police jurisdiction, but rallies will be held in other parts of New Delhi district.
