Newly-appointed AICC In-charge of Delhi Congress Shri Deepak Babaria said that Delhi Congress will spare no effort in exposing the lies, complicity and duplicity of the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party, who betrayed the people of Delhi with lies and falsehood through hollow promises in the past nine years, with door-to-door interaction with people and by energizing the grass-root level workers, to wrest all the seven seats of Delhi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said that Congress will spread the message of love of Shri Rahul Gandhi, as his fight against the politics of hatred has resonated across the country. He said that both the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party were two sides of the same coin with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal working on the agenda set by the RSS.
Addressing a press conference alongwith Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar, after taking charge as In-charge of Delhi Congress, at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, Shri Deepak Babaria said that Congress will forcefully take the fight to the grass-roots against the anti-people, anti-democratic and hate politics of the BJP and AAP. He said that the AAP, which contests Assembly elections to scuttle the Congress prospects at the behest of the BJP, had secured 13 per cent vote share in the Gujarat Assembly elections, but Kejriwal has not bothered to visit Gujarat in the past six months.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar said that Kejriwal had promised to turn Delhi into a world class city, but he only destroyed the world class facilities created by the Congress Government under the Chief Ministership of Smt. Sheila Dikshit during Congress’ 15-year development-oriented, progressive governance. He said that Delhi Congress will mount protests against the corruption-ridden misrule of the Kejriwal Government in the coming days, as he had only taken the people of Delhi for a massive ride with false promises, lies and falsehood without doing any development works. He said that all these years, he has been neglecting Delhi to fulfill his political ambitions.
Besides Shri Deepak Babaria and Ch. Anil Kumar, others present at the press conference were former DPCC president and ex-MP Shri J.P. Aggarwal, ex-MP Shri Ramesh Kumar, former Delhi Ministers Dr Narendra Nath and Shri Ramakanth Goswami, Chairman of the DPCC Communications Department and ex-MLA Shri Anil Bhardwaj, ex-MLAs Shri Mateen Ahmed and Shri Jaikishan and Dr Naresh Kumar.
Earlier, Shri Deepak Babaria was accorded a warm welcome by the Congress workers, under the leadership of Ch. Anil Kumar. Shri Babaria addressed a meeting of the Congress workers, leaders and office-bearers to explain Delhi Congress’ roadmap for the 2024 Parliament elections. He said that no stone will be left unturned to win all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi by thoroughly exposing the malgovernance of both BJP and AAP.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that two resolutions–Political and Organisational—were unanimously passed to expose the political stands of Congress against the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party.
The Political Resolution said that the “Congres workers pledge to fight unitedly, with all its might, against the corrupt, communal, autocratic, unsuccessful, anti-poor, anti-worker, anti-farmer BJP-ruled Central Government, which has totally failed to ensure the safety and security of the people of Delhi, to throw it out of power in the 2024 Parliamentary elections”.
The resolution also pledged that the “Congress workers will unitedly fight against the corrupt, anti-people and opportunistic Aam Aadmi Party Government, which has joined hands with the communal forces, failed to check price rise, unemployment, assaults and attacks on women, and which has made a business of education and health, joined hands with the liquor mafia to enforce a corrupt liquor policy, and throw it out of power in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections with the help of the people through door-to-door campaigns”.
The Organisational Resolution said that:
1. “On the basis of all the decisions taken at the Udaipur Chintan Shivir, party will be expanded from the Block level upwards so that all future appointments in the party will be based on merit.
2. “Talented people from various walks of life like spokespersons, professionals, intellectuals etc. will be encouraged to associate with the Congress as they will be offered appropriate platforms to come forward to take the policies and programmes of the Congress to all sections of society.
3. “Those who left the party to join other parties for various reasons will be appealed to leave the corrupt and incapable Governments to return to the Congress for the interest of the people of Delhi and the country.
4. “We will all strictly follow the party discipline, and will not make any public statements to the media which will harm the image of the country, as all matters will be raised in the party fora for deliberation.
